The Benefits of Social Media
Once upon a time, computers were scarce and people socialized by meeting up in person and having real life conversations. It seems that has now become a thing of the past, ancient history! I'll be Captain Obvious and mention that social media has taken over and it is dominating like a boss. Too many people spend time on social media without reaping the benefits available. Didn't know there were benefits? Well, according to Forbes here is a list (compiled August 2014) of 10 benefits.
As an entrepreneur, I focus on ideas and how to get them to be a reality as well as different ways I can generate wealth for myself and others. The list in the article (mentioned above) has a series of ideas and opportunities that #1 are free and #2 can lead a business (or person) into greatness through popularity and recognition.
Almost everyone uses Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. It is rare that they will go through the yellow pages for something they need or want, people do that via the internet by asking their friends on Facebook, posting a job opening on LinkedIn, or showing off their style on Pinterest. This is an opportunity to connect with the market! For any business, it is vital to reach your target market and know the people that will buy what you are selling. The best way to do this is by having a presence where they spend their time and know what they pay attention to.
Take your business and hop on the social media wagon. Create a Facebook page off of your already existing profile, or join in their new thing: the Facebook store (it's free for now). Don't know how? I'll teach you, that's part of my business. I created multiple pages on Facebook and can teach you how to do it too. Another little piece of advice, stay connected to your target market. These free opportunities are only useful when used correctly and done right. Keep it professional and interact with others, either by complementing what you like or tagged them to give them credit for their work or message. Start a conversation and keep it going, but not without and end. Be careful not to lose yourself and get sucked in for hours, distracting you from your "real life". There is an app for everything, and NO! you don't need every single one of those apps. Pick and choose wisely which ones are useful and beneficial to you and your business. Want more?
